Mustard is a must have ingredient of many dishes and when you use it, you won’t have to make do with the commercial shop quality, either – all you need is a good kitchen chopper and the premium quality Pödör vinegars to prepare a homemade mustard of divine taste yourself.
Put the mustard seeds into a strong kitchen chopper, together with the sugar, salt and the spices, and grind them fine.
Leave the grist in the chopper, pour on the vinegar, the oil and the water and blend and chop it for 1-2 minutes. Taste it and adjust the taste with spices if you feel the need. Put it in a box and leave it in the fridge for one night to mature. Toss it up the next day, adding some water if necessary to get the right consistency.
Close it in some small jars, and put it in the fridge. 2-3 more days of maturing will make it even better. Stored in a refrigerator, it can last for months.
